- What are the two parts of the Bible? (Don’t over think this question!!)
- What is a testament?
- What is a covenant?
- What does it mean to have a testament and covenant with God?
- Read Gen 3:15, Gen 12:2, 3 and Gal 3:8 these are three Old Testament promises. (Yes I understand Galatians is in the new testament but it still relates) What are each promising? Is each promise fulfilled? How do you know?
- Matt 1:21 says “…he will save his people from their sins.” At what time did God realize we would need to be saved from our sins?
- What was God’s initial plan for us? (read the account of the Garden of Eden)
- What happened to cause us to lose the fellowship with God?
- How bad did it get?
- What saved those who were saved? (Heb 11:7)
- What is faith?
- What saved Noah? Is faith all we need? (James 2:26)
- What other things save us? Can the faith of our parents save us?
- What saved Abram? What was given to us because of Abram?
- What was the covenant given to Abraham? How was this covenant fulfilled? Did the people of Israel see the culmination of this covenant? What had to happen first?
- Read Deuteronomy Chapters 8 and 9. What warnings do you find and what information is given to Israel? What can we gain from this information?
- Did Israel heed the warnings given to them? What sins did Israel commit that led them into captivity?
- Why did I bring this up? What do we know about the old covenant/ law? Read Romans 7:7-25. What things does the law give us that are negative?
- If the law does not save us (Gal 3:16-29) what saves us today? Please cite any Biblical examples you may have?
- The culmination of the law is Jesus. What do we know about Jesus?
- How can we be sure he is the Messiah? How many Biblical prophesies are there about Jesus?
- Was Jesus a sinner? Was he tempted? Is his temptation an important idea? Why? What does Jesus’ temptation show about God’s character?
- Jesus sacrificed himself for us. Is that the end to the story? What happened next? Why are these important details?
- We, in a nutshell have gone over the Gospels. What about the rest of the Bible? What are the next sections? What do they mean and why do we have them?
